Rotary Club of Vasco da gama

Rotary Club of Vasco da gama deeply mourns the death of Past President Pramod Metha, who passed away this morning after battling cancer for over 18 months.

Pramod led the Club during 2003-04 and was Assistant Governor D-3170 in 2007-08.

We pray that his soul rests in peace and our sympathies are with the bereaved family.

RC Vasco da gama organised the second RLI Part 1.

DG Mahesh inaugurated the program and PDG Ravi Deshpande who is also RLI District 3170 coordinator gave the introduction to RLI.

Prakash Saraswat, Piyush Sinha and Hrushikesh Keskar kept the 15 participants fully engrossed during the 7 hours of fun and learn.

DG Mahesh Raikar visited our Club on his Official Visit.

The Club assembly after the President/Secretary meet served as a motivation point for the Board and Committee Chairmen.

2 teachers were also felicitated at the hands of DG Mahesh, during the public function which was well attended by Club members as well as vsiting Rotarians and guests.

On 26 August 2010, The Rotary Foundation (TRF) received a request to help provide water treatment plants in three localities; Sada, Mangor, and New Vaddem in Vasco da Gama, Goa, India. The request has been assigned the file number, Matching Grant #73834.

The project is for $13,000 and is supported by The Rotary Club of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania (http://www.rotaryclubofwaynesboro.org/), District 6820 (http://www.rotary6820.org/) and Rotary Club of Florence (http://florenceor.clubwizard.com/)

We expect the funds to come in by December and the project to be implemented by end of January.

Our Club shall be having the District Governor's official club visit on Friday 3rd September.

The public function shall be from 7.30 pm at our Club Hall.

DG Mahesh Raikar will be meeting the President & Secretary in the afternoon and the Club assembly will be at 6 pm.

Our Club in association with Maruti Seva Samiti inaugurated the Vocation Centre at Mangor Hill. Rtn. N. Krihnamoorthi and Rtn. Santosh Lotlikar were present along with the committee of the Seva Samiti.
Rotary Club of Vasco da gama shall help the centre to provide all kind of professional and technical support to train the women and unemployed youth in computer hardware / software, fashion designing, TV / mobile technician and other ways as per the need of the people in the locality.
