Career Counselling for School dropoutsSubmitted by donald on Mon, 02/03/2009 - 10:30 |
Members of RC Vasco da gama (and 3 professional counselors) shall be inviting about 100 school drop outs to a career counseling session.
Each Rotarian involved will first make a group of 5 participants and after an half hour interactive group discussion, refer them to the professional counselor as per the assessment of needs. The teenager will then be given specific counseling as per his/her abilities by the professional. About 40 such individual sessions will be conducted on that day and if need is found, the time will be extended.
We have already started the first round in about 7 schools, and after the Class 10 board exams are over by the end of the month, will be in a position to locate around 100 dropouts, who could be poor or disinterested or incapable to continue education for any other reason.
All members of the club are requested to volunteer to be part of the project. The tentative date will be mid-April.
