We have proposed to enter a Twinning/Matched Club Agreement with Rotary Club of Emory-Druid Hills (DeKalb County), Georgia, USA, District 6900, in accordance with the elemental spirit of existing Rotary International rules and regulations.

The objectives of this Twinning/Matched Club relation are, as follows:

1. To develop and promote friendship and mutual understanding between the two Rotary International District in general, and the two Rotary Clubs in particular;

2. To encourage and organize the exchange of visits either as a group or as individuals from both clubs;

Matching Grant application, submitted by Rotary Club of Vasco da Gama and Rotary Club of Westhampton for funding to help provide toilet blocks and classroom furniture for schools and villages in Goa and Karnataka, India, has been approved by Rotary Foundation (India) ("RF(I)") and The Rotary Foundation ("TRF").

The award is in the amount of INR258,500.00 equivalent to US$5,500. The total grant budget for the project is INR634,500.00 equivalent to US$13,500.00.

Banerjee is choice for 2011-12 RI president

Kalyan Banerjee, a member of the Rotary Club of Vapi, Gujarat, India, since 1972, is the selection of the Nominating Committee for President of Rotary International in 2011-12. Banerjee will become the president-nominee on 1 October if there are no challenging candidates.

Banerjee said he would like to see Rotary "blossom from being the world's most recognized service organization to being the most important NGO [nongovernmental organization] in the world.

"Rotary, it is said, has the strength of a government and the tenderness of a parent," he added.
