Our Club recieved 2000 Hearing aids and a analog audiometer from RC Birmingham, UK. The same shall be shared with other clubs of Distrit 3170

Rtn. Prakash saraswat visited RC wigan, UK for renewal of the MG project papers to be submitted for our colpsoscope project for detection of cervical cancer.

The Rotary Club of Vasco da gama, Goa, District 3170 became the 11th founding member of The Sustainibility Trust today. Rotarian Prakash Saraswat visited the trusts booth at the 100th Rotary Convention in Birmingham to complete the formalities. (http://www.co2offsettrust.org/newspage5.htm)

After almost 20 years there shall be representation of the Club at the Rotary International Convention at Birmingham from June 21-24.

Rtn. Prakash Saraswat is attending with his spouse Jaya. Also attending is our President elect Rtn. Servulo Barros.

District 3170 Assembly at Belgaum on 30th & 31st May 2009 was attended by President Tejendra, President-elect Servulo, Secretary-elect Piyush, Vice President Ume & CRFC Prakash (who was also a resource person)

The assembly was well organised by RC Belgaum.

Rotary Club of Vasco da gama on 17th April felicitated sri. Ashok V. Chowgule with the 4-Way Test Citation.

The Citation was presented to him by our Charter Member Rtn. Ume Sarmalkar for his inspiration to the Society by being an example of doing ETHICAL BUSINESS.

Sri. Ashok Chowgule is a leading Industrialist of Goa with interests in Mininga and Shipbuilding. He is also a Trustee of Chowgule College and Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

DG Dr. Pranesh Jahagirdar made his offcial visit to our club on 13th March and after a hectic day of visiting club projects the public function was an evening of fellowship, appreciations and induction of new member Rtn. Murthy.

The evening function held in honour of DG at La-Paz was the event, the whole of the crowd waited for. It was a reasonable gathering of Rotarian and family of Vasco club and Dabolim club.

The meeting beganned with Welcome speech of Rtn.Tejendra Lawande. Rtn.Santosh, secretary presented the activities report of the club for the last 8 months completed.

As part of PRESERVE PLANET EARTH program our Club has distributed 25 SOLAR COOKERS to the needy.

Each Cooker can save precious fuels like kerosene, lpg, firewood and play a small role to REDUCE CO2 emmission.

The final programme of the DG in the morning was of distribution of Solar Cookers to poor women from slum area of Mangor hill, who came to our club Community centre, Vasco and more than 25 Solar cookers (worth rs. 49,000/-) are distributed.
